For the past four decades, Jack Polidori has worked in a wide variety of political and legislative campaigns at the national, state, and local levels. This work has taken him to 28 different states.
His consulting work has encompassed elections, referenda, and legislative (public policy) campaigns.
His union work comprised varied experiences as an organizer, contract/grievance negotiator, lobbyist, media relations consultant, political/elections specialist, and public policy analyst/advisor. This union work has been concentrated largely on behalf of the women and men who work in public schools, colleges, and universities, but has also other types of public employees and health care workers.
Jack and Eva have resided in Delaware since 2004, having lived both in Dover and presently in Wilmington.
He holds Italian citizenship (European Union) and annually (or more frequently) visits his paternal relatives in the Marche town of Ripatransone (Ascoli Piceno). His maternal family originates in the Abruzzo.
For almost the past 10 years he has served as the chair of the Commission’s Education Committee and was an original founder of the Delaware Italian-American Education Association, the entity through which both the Italian Language Summer Camp and the Italian Cinema series originated.
He has been married to Dr. Eva Ann Peterson (retired public school/university educator) for the past 36 years.
Polidori is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University (cum laude) with a BA in History and Michigan State University with a Master’s Degree in Labor and Industrial Relations.
He resides in Wilmington, Delaware, having retired from the National Education Association in December, 2012.
